A person's life is not measured by their downfalls, but by how they pick themselves up after falling. To error is Human, but to forgive is divine. And one important step to recovery is to forgive yourself, you are the only thing that can stop you from succeeding, the rest is only as powerful as you allow it to be.

Attempt #1

On my summer to do list I have "write a poem" I feel as though the poem won't be written with the first shot, sooo I'm going to write poems until I get the inspiration for "that" poem. Work tonight was super super slow and to pass the time I wrote my first poem. Here is my creation:

Summer is cool, summer is fun, summer is full of the sun
However, the sad side is this:
Summer rhymes with bummer,
yes this is true
for when you're red and burned
this "bummer" is directed at you.
All day in the Sand and water and fun...is the "beach era"
but that night will suck when you run out of aloe vera.
Those waves are the best bait
and for you to swim in them they can't wait
on a hot day, they know how to lure you in
but you'll end up looking like a lobster my friend
It's a risky decision going to the beach
but in summer you just can't help it
The only decision you really must make
is do you want your skin fried or baked?
lathering of lotions in all spf's
is pretty darn hopeless
Good luck to you brave souls
fight against that bright sunshine
even though you'll be baking like oven rolls
enjoy the badge of burned skin with pride!

Welp, there you have it. Let's just hope, I'll have better inspiration for future poems.

One life to live..

"Do one thing every day that scares you."
~Eleanor Roosevelt

A friend of mine at church said to "take chances" with people and promptings. Generally, I'm up for anything new, but when he had said that and the whole context of his testimony really made me think about the chances I take and don't take, the people I want to talk to and be friends with, but I hesitate, the things I say I want to accomplish, but never really do. So I keep reminding myself, "I only have one life to live". I just want to remind myself, that I'm blessed to be here, right now with the world before me to be my playground. The Lord has given me so many things and opportunities, but sometimes I feel like I don't take advantage of things as much as I should. Soooo basically, I'm just really grateful for life, and my friends, new and old, and where I live. ( because I love southern california) and taking this new insight and applying it to create more memories, laughter and fun to my life.

I've created a Summer To Do List:

P.P.S Happy 4th of July! I love this holiday Four reasons why:
  1. So much yummy food!
  2. No work :]
  3. I love seeing people proud of our country, since 90% of the time we are complaining about it
  4. Reminds me how appreciative I am for the men and women who protect and serve our country, both past and present.
